Live Coding

Over the last past years live coding became an integral paradigm of my performance and software development. Live coding is an improvisational art practice in digital media, involving the creation, modification and evaluation of source code as part of the performance. If you don’t know what live coding is all about you should visit TOPLAP.

Most live coding I do is as part of Benoît and the Mandelbrots, a live coding laptop band based in Karlsruhe. We received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica 2012.

My live visual performances also include live coding: Most of the parts of my visuals are generated by source code that can be modified in the performance. This allows very flexible parametrization and composition of the visual elements and can bring totally new creations.
